Naxalites targeted three CRPF jawans martyred

Bodies of martyr soldiers in the forest of Bhaisadani located on the Chhattisgarh-Odisha border.

Bhubaneshwar / Jagdalpur - On Tuesday, there was a major Naxalite attack on the CRPF team in the forest of Bhaisadani located on the Chhattisgarh and Odisha border. Three soldiers were martyred in the attack. It is said that the attack was carried out on the ROP (Road Opening Party) team of CRPF-19 Battalion. About 15 jawans are also reported to have been injured in the attack.

It is said that the attack took place around 2.30 pm in Nuapada district of Odisha. The Naxalites carried out the attack when the CRPF jawans had come out to provide security to the people engaged in road construction. Meanwhile, the Naxalites ambushed the security personnel and attacked. CRPF said that some weapons have been recovered from the spot. The injured have been rushed to the hospital. It is said that on hearing the sound of firing during the incident, CRPF personnel retaliated. After this the Naxalites fled towards the forest. CRPF has started search operation in the area.

The three martyrs have been identified as Assistant Sub Inspector Shishu Pal (Aligarh, UP), Shiv Lal (Manendragarh, Chhattisgarh) and Constable Dharmendra Singh (Rohtas, Bihar).
