Korba 05 August 2022 / On the 75th anniversary of independence, the Amrit Mahotsav of independence is being celebrated across the country. On this occasion, a tricolor campaign will be run at every house in the district from August 11 to 17. Under this campaign, tricolor is being prepared on a large scale in Korba district also. Along with this, tricolor flags made by women self-help groups and girl students of Livelihood College are being sold in collectorate premises, district panchayats and other public places. Collector Sanjeev Jha and Police Captain Santosh Singh bought the tricolor flag from the tricolor counter set up in the collectorate premises today. On this occasion, Collector Jha said that the Tricolor campaign is being run at every house under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. During this, an appeal is being made to install tricolor flag in every house under the tricolor campaign. He appealed to the people of the district to hoist the tricolor flag in their homes for the love of the nation and the honor of the nation.
Girls who have taken sewing training in Livelihood College, Korba have been linked with employment through this campaign. Arunendra Mishra, Principal of Livelihood said that orders have been received to sew 40 thousand tricolor flags to be distributed by the public undertakings operating in the district and the district administration. For sewing the tricolor flag, more than 35 girl students, who have taken a swing machine operator's course, have been engaged in sewing work by connecting them directly to self-employment. Those who are being paid at the rate of 5 rupees per flag stitch. Seema Dixena, who is working to sew the tricolor flag, told that earlier she did a sewing course under the Prime Minister's Skill Development Scheme. After doing the course, now she has got the job of sewing the tricolor flag in the Livelihood College itself, from which she is earning 500 to 700 rupees per day. It is worth noting that under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, tricolor campaign is going on in every house across the country. Through this great campaign, where the whole country will celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Azami. The dream of self-reliance is being realized by directly connecting women and girl students of self-help groups to self-employment through the work of stitching the same tricolor.
