Former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry has died in a road accident near Mumbai. He was 54 years old, Palghar police station has confirmed this accident. Police said that there were four people in the car at the time of the accident, out of which 2 people have died and 2 people have been injured.

Born in Ireland, Cyrus Mistry attended London Business School. Pallonji was Shapoorji's youngest son, his family was one of the richest Indian families in Ireland. Started working in Shapoorji Pallonji & Company in 1991. He was appointed as the Director of Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1994. Under Cyrus' leadership, Shapoorji Pallonji & Co made huge profits and its turnover increased from 20 million pounds to about 1.5 billion pounds.

The company expanded operations in the fields of marine, oil, gas and railways. During this time the construction work of this company spread in more than 10 countries. Under the leadership of Cyrus, his company made many big records in India. These include the construction of the tallest residential tower, the construction of the longest railway bridge and the construction of the largest port. In 2006, Cyrus Mistry joined the board of Tata Sons, after the retirement of Ratan Tata in 2012, he took over the reins of the Tata Group, becoming the sixth chairman of Tata Sons. In 2016, Cyrus Mistry was removed from the post of chairman by voting on the board of Tata Sons.
