Jashpur. An accused has been arrested red handed by the police while selling cow meat near the city. The matter is of village Sitonga of Kotwali police station area. Kotwali in-charge Ravi Shankar Tiwari said that the police had received information that the accused Ranjit Toppo was selling beef from his house in this village. On information, the police team raided and searched the house of the accused. During the search, the team seized cow meat tied in plastic from the house of the accused. Taking action in the matter, the Kotwali police has detained the accused for questioning. The Kotwali in-charge said that during interrogation, the accused has accepted his crime. Further action is being taken by registering a crime against him. The Bajrang Dal has expressed displeasure over the incident. Rahul Gupta said that the incidents of selling cow meat in and around the city are continuously coming to the fore. These are not correct.
He said that those who use cow meat have to understand that this act of theirs affects the system of the whole society. They should respect the sentiments of other religions. Bajrang Dal has also expressed satisfaction over the prompt action taken by the Kotwali police. For information, let us tell you that politically and socially, cow slaughter, cow smuggling is considered a very sensitive matter in Jashpur. Controversy has arisen many times in the past regarding these subjects. However, due to the proactiveness of the police administration, the situation could not be brought under control in time.
