Janjgir Champa - The Janjgir Champa police has achieved success in arresting the inter-district gang of vicious Nakabjans who had targeted the empty houses of people in the outer colony and rural areas of the city. A total of 30 extortion incidents have been carried out by the gang including 24 in Janjgir Champa district, 03 in Sakti, 01 in Raigad, 02 in Bilaspur. In some cases of theft, jewelery kept for marriage and engagement was also stolen. Used to give jewelery to jewelers at a low price and get the amount through phone pay.
The accused had allowed the women of their homes to wear the stolen jewellery. While seizing a total of Rs 2430180 lakhs, the police arrested eight accused including 06 naqabjans and 02 jewelers of the gang and produced them in the court, from where all the accused were sent to jail on judicial remand.
Giving detailed information about this matter, the district's flamboyant Superintendent of Police Vijay Aggarwal told Arvind Tiwari that from the month of December 2022, incidents of theft were happening continuously from seven in the morning to seven in the evening in the district. In connection with which a special team was formed. Through which continuous detection was being done, as well as the technical team of cyber cell was also engaged. Information was received from the informer that near the Pisaud brewery, some persons have kept suspicious items in bags and are talking about stealing under the influence of alcohol. On the information of the informer, police station Janjgir and the special team laid siege and interrogated the said persons by taking them into police custody. In which Vinod, Vasudev, Sunil Maravi, Bhupendra Singh Rathore, Santosh, Vedprakash, Vasudev and Ganjhu Singh were found who had kept brass plates and utensils in their bag and on enquiry, the said persons told them to steal from an empty house. On psychological questioning, he heard from different police station areas of district Janjgir Champa, Bilaspur, Sakti roaming around in a motor cycle and told Vinod Vasudev and Santosh to break the lock of the house and enter for theft and guarding others outside. Gold and silver jewelery and cash were recovered at their instance. At the same time, it was told by the accused that the stolen gold and silver jewelery was recovered after being presented by them to Prasad Soni of Pragati Nagar pass and Harish Soni of Kashinagar Budhwari CSEB district Korba for sale. Police finally arrested eight accused including six Naqabjans and two jewelers of the inter-district gang of vicious naqabjans and produced them in the court, from where all the accused were sent to jail on judicial remand.
