Even in times of any natural calamity and crisis, our jawans help shoulder to shoulder in the service of the general public. Citing the example of Janjgir-Champa district of the state, the Governor said that our forces had also played an important role in rescuing a child who fell in a borewell. He thanked the jawans who contributed in this difficult mission. The Governor said that the recruitment process of firemen is being carried out in the country on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the aim of giving the youth an opportunity to serve the nation by joining the armed forces. Expressing hope, he said that more and more youths from the state should get selected in the army and serve Mother India. On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, the Governor called for maximum donations and said that it is our culture to donate. The Governor also honored decorated military officers and army personnel for their special work. Similarly, on behalf of the Kendriya Sainik Board, the Governor gave the Prime Minister's scholarship amount to the talented students of Chhattisgarh. The District Magistrate and District Sainik Welfare Officers were also honored at the function. For collecting the maximum amount on the occasion of Flag Day, the first prize was given to Raipur District Magistrate Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure and District Military Welfare Officer Capt.
